De boeken gaan over mensen met speciale krachten, er zijn verschillende soorten “wezens” met krachten en ook gewone mensen. De boeken lezen enorm vlot, ik werd echt meegetrokken in het verhaal en ik wou niet stoppen met lezen tot het einde. Een echte dikke vette aanrader dus. Het speelt zich af in de normale wereld maar wel met wat abnormale dingen erbij, een heerlijke combinatie vind ik dat.

Het hoofdpersonage is Ella Mae LaFaye, ze weet helemaal niet dat ze magische krachten heeft of dat het zelfs maar bestaat! Doorheen het eerste boek komt ze dit te weten en leert ze ermee omgaan. Ik heb tijdens het lezen van de vijf boeken meermaals een traantje weggepinkt en op het puntje van mijn stoel gezeten van de spanning. Er zit daarbij ook nog humor, romantiek en fantasie in. Meer moet dat niet zijn voor mij.
